Ingredients

1 loaf of crusty French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes

1 cup sliced salami

1 cup sliced prosciutto

1 cup sliced pepperoni

1 cup assorted cheeses (cheddar, brie, gouda), cut into small cubes

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1 cup mixed olives (green, black, kalamata), pitted and sliced

1/2 cup pickles or cornichons, chopped

4 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.

Layer the Bread: Evenly distribute the cubed French bread across the bottom of the prepared baking dish, creating a solid layer.

Add Meats and Cheeses: Layer the sliced salami, prosciutto, and pepperoni atop the bread, ensuring even coverage. Follow this with the assorted cheese cubes, spreading them out for optimal melting.

Incorporate Vegetables: Sprinkle the halved cherry tomatoes, sliced olives, and chopped pickles over the meats and cheese, ensuring they cover as much of the bread and meats as possible.

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until fully combined and slightly frothy.

Combine All Layers: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the baking dish. With a spatula or your hands, gently press down to ensure that all the bread cubes are coated and soaked in the mixture.

Bake the Casserole: Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and continue to bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is a beautiful golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, let the casserole cool for a few minutes. Cut into squares and garnish with freshly chopped herbs to add a touch of color and brightness.

Enjoy: Serve warm and savor the rich and comforting flavors of your charcuterie favorites transformed into a delicious casserole!
