Creamy Lemon Dill Pasta

8 oz (225g) fettuccine or your preferred pasta

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

2 cloves garlic, finely minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Zest and juice of 1 large lemon

2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried dill for a different flavor)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a kick)

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (for garnish)

Fresh dill sprigs (for garnish)

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente (firm to the bite). Before draining, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water. Drain the pasta and set it aside.

    Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant; be cautious not to let it brown.

      Create a Creamy Base: Reduce the heat to medium-low and slowly pour in the heavy cream. Continuously stir as it warms. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, and lemon juice, stirring until the cheese melts completely and the sauce is rich and smooth.
