Ingredients

4 skinless salmon fillets (6 oz each)

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried dill)

Zest and juice of 1 large lemon

2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon olive oil

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it reaches the right temperature for baking the salmon.

Prepare the baking dish: Drizzle a teaspoon of olive oil over a baking dish and use a paper towel or brush to evenly coat the bottom of the dish, preventing the salmon from sticking.

Arrange the salmon: Lay the salmon fillets in the baking dish in a single layer. Season each fillet generously with salt and freshly cracked black pepper to enhance the flavor.

Create the creamy sauce: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, finely chopped fresh dill (or dried dill), lemon zest, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Mix all the ingredients well until they form a creamy, smooth sauce.

Spread the sauce: Use a spatula to evenly spread the zesty lemon dill sauce over the top of each salmon fillet, ensuring they are completely coated for maximum flavor.

Add the cheese topping: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese uniformly over the sauce-covered salmon fillets. This will add a deliciously cheesy crust as it bakes.

Bake the salmon: Place the baking dish in your preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. The salmon should flake easily with a fork when fully cooked, and the sauce should appear bubbly and lightly golden on top.

Serve: Carefully remove the dish from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes. Serve each salmon fillet warm, garnished with fresh lemon wedges to squeeze over the top for an extra burst of citrus flavor.
