For the Turkey Burgers:

1 lb ground turkey

1/4 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Olive oil for grilling

For the Peach Salsa:

2 ripe peaches, diced

1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1 jalapeño, seeded and minced (adjust based on desired heat)

Juice of 1 lime

Salt and pepper to taste

For Assembly:

4 whole wheat burger buns

Lettuce leaves (optional)

Slices of avocado (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Salsa: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the diced peaches, finely chopped red onion, chopped cilantro, minced jalapeño, lime juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly and set aside for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Mix the Burger Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey with the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and parsley (if using). Gently mix until the ingredients are just combined—be careful not to overmix to ensure the burgers remain tender.

Form the Patties: Divide the turkey mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into round patties approximately 3/4 inch thick. Use your thumb to press a slight indent into the center of each patty—this helps them cook evenly.

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to a medium-high heat and lightly brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent the burgers from sticking.

Grill the Turkey Burgers: Place the turkey patties on the hot grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on one side until they develop a nice brown color. Carefully flip the patties and grill for an additional 5-6 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Toast the Buns: If desired, place the burger buns cut-side down on the grill during the last minute of cooking until they are lightly toasted.

Assemble the Burgers: On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a grilled turkey patty. Spoon a generous amount of summer peach salsa over the top. Add optional lettuce leaves and avocado slices if desired, then place the top half of the bun on each burger.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the burgers hot alongside your favorite side dishes, such as crispy sweet potato fries or a refreshing mixed green salad.
