Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 ripe mango, peeled and diced into small cubes

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, finely chopped

1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs

1/4 cup onion, finely chopped (preferably red for sweetness)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Olive oil (for grilling)

4-6 slider buns (mini burger buns)

Crisp lettuce leaves (for serving; romaine or butter lettuce works well)

Extra mango slices and whole basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, diced mango, chopped basil, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Using your hands or a spatula, mix everything thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture is consistent.

Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 to 6 equal portions, depending on your preferred slider size. Shape each portion into small patties, approximately 1-inch thick, ensuring they are evenly shaped for uniform cooking.

Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill or a stovetop grill pan over medium heat. Lightly brush the grill surface with olive oil to prevent the patties from sticking during cooking.

Cook the Patties: Place the formed sliders onto the preheated grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the patties reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C), ensuring they are thoroughly cooked and nicely browned.

Toast the Buns: In the last few minutes of cooking, place the slider buns on the grill cut side down. Toast them for about 1-2 minutes until they are lightly golden and warm.

Assemble the Sliders: Begin assembling the sliders by placing a fresh lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place one chicken patty on top of the lettuce, followed by slices of extra mango and a few whole basil leaves. Finish with the top half of the bun to create a completed slider.

Serve: Arrange the assembled sliders on a serving plate. Serve immediately with a side of crispy sweet potato fries or a refreshing mixed green salad for a delightful meal.
